Open-cell vs. closed-cell for commercial work
Closed-cell foam is the usual choice for commercial and industrial buildings. It has a higher R-value per inch, resists moisture, acts as a vapor retarder at the right thickness and adds rigidity to the surfaces it’s sprayed on. That makes it a strong fit for metal roofs and walls, warehouses and anywhere condensation is a problem.
Open-cell foam can make sense in offices and interior spaces where sound control and cost matter more and moisture isn’t a concern.
