Open-cell or closed-cell in a new build?
Open-cell foam is the common choice for roof decks and walls in new South Florida homes. It’s economical, seals air leaks well and absorbs sound.
Closed-cell foam has a higher R-value per inch and resists moisture, so it’s used where space is limited, in areas exposed to moisture and on metal buildings.
